La transición a educación secundaria en República Dominicana: una perspectiva bioecológica

Junto con la pubertad, la transición de educación primaria a secundaria es uno de los períodos más estresantes y críticos del desarrollo académico y socioemocional del individuo en el tránsito niñez-adultez. El objetivo es analizar las percepciones de estudiantes de República Dominicana sobre los factores emocionales, sociales y pedagógicos involucrados en la transición a educación secundaria desde una perspectiva biotecnológica. Método: 864 estudiantes de secundaria, previo consentimiento de los representantes, respondieron un cuestionario validado de 59 ítems sobre los factores socioemocionales y académicos involucrados en esta transición. Resultados: los estudiantes valoran positivamente la influencia recíproca de los factores educativos, sociales y emocionales en la transición a educación secundaria. Se observaron correlaciones significativas bilaterales entre factores y entre los microsistemas del modelo bioecológico personal/estudiantes, familia y escuela considerando indicadores como adaptación, bienestar mental, desarrollo de competencias, rendimiento académico del estudiantado en educación secundaria, que confirma la interpretación bioecológica de la transición escolar.
